Manzine was conceived during the credit crunch of 2007 and published in the financial crisis of 2008. The impetus was to create a refreshing, original and inexpensive men’s-interest print title at a time when the market is known to be lacking direction, long-established titles are closing and circulations are falling.
The appetite for aspirational content, including style, entertainment, film, celebrity, sport, fitness and politics, among magazine-buying men is adequately catered for, and in some cases oversaturated.
Centering on personal experience, opinion columns, humour and creativity, Manzine addresses a separate dimension of the modern masculine experience in an original and uniquely accessible format.
Manzine’s editorial contributors include Alex Bilmes (GQ), Simon Mills (The Sunday Times), Richard Benson (former editor of The Face), Neil Boorman (Sleaze Nation), Mark Hooper (The Face, Arena), David Baker (Wired) Peter Lyle (Tank, Arena), Chris Floyd (Esquire), Peter Stitson (Dazed & Confused), James Joyce (One Fine Day), Gavin Lucas (Creative Review) and Bill Drummond (The KLF) and Kevin Braddock (GQ, Wired)
