Sonic Youth: Corporate Ghost 1990-2002 features 23 official (and unofficial) group videos spanning all seven of Sonic Youth's major label albums as well as their cover of "Superstar" from 1994's Carpenters tribute album If I Were A Carpenter. Included are the videos for all 11 Goo tracks ("Dirty Boots," "Tunic," "Mary-Christ," "Kool Thing," "Mote," "My Friend Goo," "Disappearer," "Mildred Pierce," "Cinderella's Big Score," "Scooter & Jinx" and "Titanium Expose"). Seen and heard from Dirty (1992) are "100%," "Sugar Kane" and "Youth Against Fascism"; from Experimental Jet Set, Trash And No Star (1994) "Bull In The Heather"; from Washing Machine "Little Trouble Girl" and "The Diamond Sea"; from A Thousand Leaves (1998) "Sunday" and "Hoarfrost"; from NYC Ghosts & Flowers (2000) "Nevermind (What Was It Anyway)," and from Murray Street "The Empty Page" and "Disconnection Notice." Also included is a rare solo video from bandmember Thurston Moore's 1995 solo album Psychic Hearts (for "Ono Soul") and three previously unreleased clips: the original cut of "Disappearer" from Oscar-nominated director Todd Haynes (Far From Heaven) the crème de la crème of the 1992 MTV 120 Minutes/Sonic Youth Homemade Video contest. Known for their history of working with young directors who then move on to great acclaim, "Corporate Ghost" also features over three hours of commentary and interviews from the members of Sonic Youth as well as directors including (among others): Spike Jonze (Being John Malkovich, Adaptation), Todd Haynes (Far From Heaven), Tamra Davis (CB4, Billy Madison), Mark Romanek (One Hour Photo) In addition, there are new interviews with some actors from the videos including Jason Lee (Almost Famous, Chasing Amy) discussing his first on-screen role.in the Sonic Youth video for "100%" and Kathleen Hanna (originally of the band Bikini Kill and now with Le Tigre) speaking of her role in "Bull In The Heather. Spike Jonze provides a narrated photo montage of his long friendship with the band as well as contributions to a few of the band's videos ("100%," "The Diamond Sea"). Other bonus material includes 19 minutes of bonus interviews, a fan-created short film called "My Sonic Room" plus hidden bonus features. For fans who possess the band's VHS collection of pre-1990 visual work, Screaming Fields Of Sonic Love (1995), the video story of Sonic Youth is brought up-to-date with Corporate Ghost - The Videos: 1990-2002.
