Fucking Young began as an inspirational platform focusing on youthful aesthetics derived from manly hemispheres. Our freedom allowed us to merge established with emerging artists, thus aiding the latter reaching their own public. A synergy that owed most to a passion for the arts has since grown to a state where not only do we promote content created by others, moreover we sponsor and collaborate in birthing such work. Now we also celebrate this community’s creativity with our printed magazine, which intends to better shelter our love and presence in the youthful hemisphere of the current times.
In this issue:
Fucking Young!’s Issue #27 is built around the theme of DREAMS. Dreams unlock the creative thought in all of us, but you need to be brave enough to make your own place. With climate anxiety, unstable economies, political turbulence, and hyper-curated social pressures, the classic “dream big” feels out of sync with reality. But we aren’t letting go of dreaming; we are redefining what it looks like. Instead of aspiring for perfection, we dream of possibility.
“Our moral obligation, as dreamers, is to be the alarm clock for those who perpetuate horror while asleep on the mattress of their privilege. We must ensure, at all costs, that our private utopias don’t moonlight as someone else’s dystopia. Because dreams, the real ones, make us move forward. Nightmares stagnate and destroy us.” Adriano Batista, FY!’s Editor-in-Chief
This issue features conversations with designers Josh Tafoya, Sabato De Sarno, and Tyrone Susman; artists Cédric Rivrain and Scarlett Rouge; Creative Director Sara Sozzani Maino; musicians Jaydena and Rojuu; and actors Arón Piper and Óscar Casas. Each one makes a declaration of love for creativity while manifesting their ongoing dreams.
Contributing photographers, including Adrián Cuerdo, Aitana Valencia, Andrés García Luján, Anna Blanc Larrue, Andy Dyo, Cole Fawcett, Leire Cavia, Louis Teran, Michiel Meewis, Morgan Hil-Murphy, Rita Castel-Branco, Shengzhe, Stefano Giuliano, and Thomas Lizzi, imagine new worlds or rewrite realities where dreaming becomes not escapism, but resistance.
