Maggi’s Mag is a collaboration between Middle Plane magazine and British artist Maggi Hambling creating a dialogue between art and fashion. The issue reads as a visual interview of photo-series’ presented in a non-linear format that shed light on Maggi’s personality in varied ways – at times intimidating and confrontational, at others generous and humorous.

From drawing on her vices and behaviours to exploring the unusual juxtaposition of fashion and art, the editorials include a series of intimate photographs of Maggi shot by Juergen Teller, cinematic stills by Sam Rock inspired by her love of the sea, a series by Paul Kooiker that draws on the artist’s penchant for meringues and a study from by Isabelle Wenzel inspired by Maggi’s life drawings.

In this issue:

The 13th issue features conversations between Alejandro Jodorowsky, Pascale Montandon-Jodorowsky and Hans Ulrich Obrist, Laurie Simmons and Lena Dunham, Rob Pruitt and Gavin Brown, interspersed with playful fashion editorials from photographers including Oliver Hadlee Pearch, Alasdair McLellan, Danny Reed, Frank Lebon, Marie Chaix, and more.

Plus, photographer Jamie Hawkesworth and producer Adele Romanski pay a heartfelt tribute to Romanski’s dog Banana through a short essay and photo series, and photographer Laurie Simmons presents a surreal 36-page visual insert, titled ‘Fake Fashion’.
