Sextio år fyllda med tovigt skägg, ett haltande ben och slitna kläder är Lefty Brown långt ifrån någon hjältetyp. Under fyra decennier har han ridit sida vid sida med westernlegenden Eddie Johnson, men alltid i hans skugga. Strax efter att Eddie valts till ämbetet som Montanas senator blir denne brutalt mördad och Lefty tvingas att för första gången träda fram ur skuggan. Med sorg blandat med vrede ger sig Lefty av för att försöka finna sin livskamrats mördare, men blir under färden själv anklagad för mordet…
Bill Pullman (Independence Day I & II, The Sinner) gör sitt livs roll som Lefty Brown, en av de mest osannolika hjältar som westerngenren någonsin upplevt. Imponerar gör även stjärnor som Jim Caviezel (titelrollen i The Passion of the Christ), Tommy Flanagan (”Chibs” i Sons of Anarchy) och Peter Fonda (Oscarnominerad för Ulee’s Gold).
