Casa BRUTUS is a prominent Japanese “design-focused lifestyle magazine” published monthly by Magazine House, focusing on architecture, interior design, art, travel, fashion, and food.
In this issue:
NIGO®’s first large-scale retrospective overseas, NIGO: From Japan with Love, will be held at the Design Museum in London from May 1 to October 4. The exhibition features more than 700 items, including a recreation of his childhood room in Maebashi, Gunma; the façade of the legendary Harajuku shop NOWHERE, which opened in 1993; and his latest tea room space, DROPHAUS. It offers a comprehensive overview of NIGO®’s career spanning over three decades.
In conjunction with the exhibition, Casa BRUTUS will publish an English-language compilation of its long-running coverage of NIGO®, spanning from the December 2000 issue featuring Jean Prouvé to the January 2026 Utsuwa special and the new HUMAN MADE office. Titled Casa BRUTUS By NIGO® ENGLISH VERSION, the volume traces the evolution of NIGO®’s spaces and collections—from his atelier and vintage furniture to denim, houses, NOT A HOTEL, and tea bowls.
