Design Anthology UK is a triannual print magazine spotlighting the best of design, architecture, art, travel and style across Europe. As with Design Anthology, our sister publication in Asia, we combine the highest production values with thought-provoking content, setting a new standard for premium design and lifestyle titles in the UK.

When we were shaping ideas for the inaugural issue, we asked two questions: What is our point of view? And, when there are countless other magazines covering design in Europe: Why now? The answer is fairly straightforward. We believe there is room for a new kind of considered, premium title that champions quality, beauty and innovative thinking.

Each issue is put together by our network of writers, photographers, editors and stylists – all bound by a commitment to creativity and candor. Far from a glossy catalogue to be discarded, Design Anthology UK is a collectible volume made by people who are passionate about print.

In this issue:

Issue 23 highlights the place where deep thinking, integrity and originality intersect in the worlds of design, architecture, art and interiors. Meet Danish designer Louise Roe and her unique path to her Copenhagen gallery (p34). Learn how the designers of a new Vietnamese restaurant in South London used theatre set design to inform the interiors (p30). See the precision that Norm Architects employ to design a Swedish bakery with restrained spectacle at its heart (p40). Read about a new guesthouse in Arles, France, that combines art exhibitions and architecture for a hybrid hospitality concept (p58). Or a photo essay of the crumbling beauty of Venice by Isabelle Young (p62). Not to mention soulful, intriguing homes in Paris, London, Valencia and Belgium. Plus, our picks of accessories and fashion for the curious and brave.

Enjoy.
