An exuberant melding of TOM ‘Chemical Brother’ Rowlands and Norwegian singer-songwriter AurORA, the duo have recorded an album’s worth of psychedelic dance music that is not only the sum of their equal parts, but also a vivid trip offering a glimpse of future sonic opportunities between the pair.
Craig McLean spoke to the duo in London recently and learned of Aurora’s early love of The Chemical Brothers, Rowlands’ reluctance to dance onstage and discovers why an album created in a “crazy wizard laboratorium” in the East Sussex countryside and a studio nestled in the snowy Scandinavian woods sounds like whimsical techno.
