Foam Magazine is an international photography magazine. The magazine serves as an exhibition space that embraces every aspect of photography from documentary to fashion, from contemporary to historical, from world famous photographers to young talent.
In this issue:
Foam Magazine #61 the Talent Issue presents portfolio’s from the 20 new talents that were selected through our Foam Talent Call. The 20 fascinating artists selected for our 2022 edition of Foam Magazine’s Talent Issue look closely at both the world around us, and the one within — without shying away from discomfort or pain. Rather, they use the photographic medium to respond to, digest and navigate a world that continues to present new challenges and problematic structures.
This year, the submission numbers — which have steadily increased each year — reached a record high of 1938 submissions from 85 different countries. We are proud to present a selection that offers as much food for thought as beauty and innovation for the medium. Our new issue features a conversation between Foam’s new artistic director Jane’a Johnson and our new talent curator Mirelva Berghout. We showcase the work of the talents of 2022: the Ritsch Sisters, Marwan Bassiouni, Myriam Boulos, Ange-Frédéric Koffi, Donavon Smallwood, Pavo Marinovic, Czar Kristoff, Laura Chen, Kata Geibl, Marvel Harris, Seif Kousmate, Alexandra Rose Howland, Yushi Li, Lina Geoushy, Olgaç Bozalb, Carla Liesching, Ghazaleh Rezaei, Linn Phyllis Seeger, Diego Moreno and Donja Nasseri and feature text contributions by Gem Fletcher, Taco Hidde Bakker, Maisie Skidmore, Alexandra König and Sunil Shah – only to name a few.
