HÅNDVÆRK bookazine shows aesthetic products created by human hand. Through features and interviews with the practising, dedicated craftsmen, artisans and designers, the focus is on the importance of knowledge of materials and processes as a prerequisite for a sustainable practice.
In this issue:
Bookazine no. 11 explores the world of wood, in the broadest sense. It takes you on a visit to the company managing the furniture heritage of Finn Jul and portrays a craftsman who has cast conventions aside to make new furniture out of waste materials.
In the bookazine, Rigetta Klint also speaks to a violin maker and a basketweaver and visits a cherry winery.
You can learn about forest management, take part in a forest bath or a Forest Retreat and hear about the ancient method of shou sugi ban.
You can also tour a new-built residence hall for craftspersons in training and, last but not least, watch a three-metre-tall wooden sculpture take shape.
