Hero Magazine, Issue 28 (Hero Fiennes Tiffin)
Hero is our antidote to the stuffy and over-thought cultural dryness that has gripped menswear publishing.
We strive to make a magazine and website that are not afraid to be visually led and arresting – have beautiful photography, amazing fashion and great, informal interviews with actors, designers and friends – and for that to be something to celebrate and revel in.
Our emphatic definition of the season is a joyously curated vision of what we love. No filler news pieces or fluff articles, just pure and bold statements. We are read by taste-making men in their twenties, thirties and forties who love fashion and culture, and want to be excited by it again.
Our approach to fashion is celebratory and zealous. Embracing the styling, foregrounding the clothes.

HERO FIENNES TIFFIN in conversation with JORDAN BOLGER
Melting hearts and dishing out brooding stares as Hardin Scott in the After movie franchise, Hero Fiennes Tiffin has earned his place as a generational bad-boy-heartthrob. But as the film series starts to wind down, Fiennes Tiffin and his dedicated legion of fans are eagerly anticipating his next move – and it couldn’t be more different: starring in The Woman King – a historical epic starring Viola Davis and John Boyega.

Olympic diver-slash-knitting maestro Tom Daley knitted scarves for Daniel w Fletcher’s FW22 runway show – the pair discuss Fletcher’s emotive FW22 collection.
Eminent US artist Banks Violette creates memorable works that confront America’s wounds – the designer also collaborated with Hedi Slimane on the designer’s Celine FW22 collection.
New Zealand musician Marlon Williams unpicks his artistic process having stepped out of his comfort zone, charting new ground through character narratives and 80s pop. “Playing characters vocally is definitely my favourite part of the job.”
Writer Simon Chilvers documents a shift towards revealing skin on the menswear runway, and questions how this reflects broader societal conversations, and we spotlight four rising UK music acts making waves: Finches, High school, Gingerella and Bingo Fury. As part of HERO’s Notes in Time chapter, we speak to The Sims senior creative director Anna Huerta about constructing the game’s ever-evolving digital landscape, explore the future of flying cars with urban air mobility innovators Bellwether Industries, and have a curiously deep conversation with an AI.
Plus: Daniel Archer and HERO fashion director Peghah Maleknejad travel to an abandoned limestone quarry for their dramatic outdoor survival story, A New World, Steve Harnacke and Ben Schofield capture the return of men on the Miu Miu runway as part of a genderless collection, Danielle Levitt and Davey Sutton compose a story of defiant LA youth, John P. Heyes and Hannah Elwell document Craig Green’s effervescent SS23 collection, Issac Anthony and Roberto Johnson create a story inspired by a spontaneous photobooth, and Laura Marie Cieplik and Erik Raynal capture the boundary-blurring sensibility of MM6 Maison Margiela in a story that spans HERO and HEROINE.
