Holiday wants to capture the essence, the aesthetic demands and the sense of journalistic adventure of its original american version from the 1950′s. Having returned from Cartagena de Indias, Holiday sets off for Canada to capture a few of its thousand facets. A slew of other subjects includes First Nations heritage from the viewpoint of artist Emily Carr, Inuit cinema, Margaret Trudeau’s hedonistic years, Glenn Gould, the enigma that is Keanu Reeves, the Canadian origins of American folk music, Agnes Martin, Daria Werbowy, delinquent bears, Jeff Wall, Nunavut’s parka-making tradition and a wild seven-day journey along the Sunshine Coast.

As for photography, Angelo Pennetta brings us his vision of the Rockies, Olivier Kerven does the same after visiting Quebec, Hill & Aubrey cover Nunavut, Tom Johnson dreams of a Canadian pastoral landscape and travels across Ontario with Kirsten Owen, Alessandro Furchino Capria inspects the way interiors interact with Nature, Raymonde April offers us a glimpse of her hometown, and Yota Hoshi’s still lifes depict the country through objects, while Jack Day and Awar Odhiang undertake a city stroll as unique as the journey to the True North that this issue offers.
