Kennedy, Issue 14 – Family

249 SEK
Sold out.

Kennedy is a biannual journal which explores the curiosities of select individuals in various fields of the Arts. Our approach harbours the intent of striking up dialogues which encompass these individuals specific fields of expertise alongside broader inspirations, ideas and concerns. Aimed at but not limited to a male reading audience, Kennedy also includes a Style section focussing on subtlety, craftsmanship and style of substance over fleeting fashions. Subject matter will include photography, music and literature.

Kennedy is published every 6 months, in an agile format of 16x21cm, perfectly bound. Each issue runs at approximately 160 pages, and goes on sale every July and December, titled Summer and Winter editions, distancing itsself from other biannual publications purposefully.

In this issue:

FAMILY
A Love Letter to My Family

“Writing the foreword to every new issue of Kennedy is always the hardest part in the making of it, but this one in particular has been one of the most heart-wrenching, because it’s about something so personal and painful, not unlike when I had to deal with the death of my friend Angelo Pandelidis who started this magazine with me in 2013. It’s been ten years since we first released this magazine.
Ten years since that warm August night that he died. Now one decade after I’ve got to face another “death”, the end of a romance which is as excruciating and life-altering as a real loss.
I’m romantic by nature, for me life can’t be without love. The end of love is a small “death”.
But I realised over the course of the last 6 months that there are other ways of being, outside of what we think we know or who we think we are. We can exist outside of the boundaries that wee been schooled to take for granted, outside of the identities we’ve built for ourselves as partners, lovers, parents and individuals. As I write these words, I’m still learning like a patient who’s been in a coma for years, to talk, walk and live in ways I didn’t think were possible before. And, strangely enough, I’ve never felt more alive.”
