Each edition of Like the Wind magazine is a collection of running stories. There are personal anecdotes, inspirational tales, reportage, beautiful illustrations and stunning photography over 116 pages printed on beautiful, matte paper. The magazine launched in February 2014 and we publish an edition every quarter.

In this issue:

Issue #47 of Like the Wind celebrates runners who run because they must — and the creatives who can’t help but turn that need into artwork, poetry, photography, words, and ideas. More than a magazine, Like the Wind is a curated journey through global running culture — told beautifully, with purpose.

Throughout 130 pages, beautifully illustrated with photography and bespoke commissioned artwork, this issue of Like the Wind champions the spirit of runners who can’t and won’t be stopped. We’ve curated a wealth of stories from around the world and all aspects of running, including track, training, road marathons, and trail – both ultra races and personal quests.

Some of the stories in issue 47 include:

  • The Extra Salt: Amory Rowe chats with legendary Olympian Deena Kastor.
  • Don’t Worry, Be Happy: Sammy Berryman heads to Tanzania to recce a new staged trail race, and finds a positive shift in mindset.
  • Creative Pursuit: Jaymes Shrimski brings together artists from Manila’s running scene to ask how running fuels creativity.
  • It’s Not the Mountain: our creative director, Alex Murphy ran UTMB this year. Just don’t ask about the toenails he lost at Vallorcine.
  • City Shapes: Rachel Taylor explores how race days prove the adaptability of cities and what we can learn from temporary reorganization.
  • One of the Girls: Adrienne Perron heads out for a run with Team Meridia, an all women, brand-agnostic professional track team in Boulder.
  • On the Edge: Mike Russell’s companion comic strip about a cult running movie from the 80s by the same name.
