MacGuffin is a new and unusual design & crafts magazine. It features fabulous stories about the life of ordinary, often anonymously designed things. Each biannual edition takes an object and explores the manifold stories it generates. Like the MacGuffins in Hitchcock films, these things are not the main characters, but the plot devices that set the story in motion.

From charms and chokers to shackles and fetters, this issue explores the many manifestations of that most contradictory of objects: ‘The Chain’. Worn with love since time immemorial, it is also the ultimate symbol of slavery and suffering. Linking together royals and rappers, provocative punks and crashed cars, cycling skirts and classic scarfs, caged wrestlers and medieval warriors, hyperlinks and haunted houses, Baltic protestors and Cuban revolutionaries.
