Människan och hennes symboler är en av den analytiska psykologins främsta klassiker. Här klargör den analytiske psykologen Carl Gustav Jung sin teori om symbolernas betydelse, i synnerhet drömsymbolernas. Boken tillkom i nära samarbete mellan Jung och hans närmaste lärjungar.
Inte bara psykologin har influerats av Jungs idéer, utan även andra områden som till exempel filosofin och litteraturen. Synen på människan som en symbolskapande varelse har även inspirerat konstnärer, musiker, filmskapare med flera inte minst i vår tid, där Jungs teorier nu verkar ha fått ett rejält uppsving inom populärkulturen.
