PM & Vänner – Skog, Äng, Sjö
We share stories behind the restaurant and hotel located in the historical province of Småland. Showcasing food, wine, and most importantly our friends (vänner in Swedish); hunters, farmers, fishermen, artists, designers and staff who together make PM & Vänner a reference for excellence and sustainability. Over 312 pages we show the faces and ecosystem around this unique hospitality project in the middle of the Smålandic forests, meadows and lakes.
PM & Vänner is a Michelin-starred restaurant and boutique hotel located in Växjo, Sweden. It is well known in the culinary scene for its focus on the provenance of produce, quality, and sustainability. Their modern interpretation of regional Smålandic cuisine allows them to promote the abundance of the region with the use of old and new culinary knowledge and techniques. It is also distinguished by its acclaimed wine selection and list, which has more than 5,000 different wines and has been awarded with the Grand Award of Excellence by Wine Spectator and Best Wine List of the Year in the Nordic Countries by Star Wine List. The PM & Vänner hospitality group currently encompasses PM Bakery, PM Bar, and PM Banquet & Event, which all share the same values and philosophy.
The book contains writings and images that reflect the history and traditions of everyone that collaborates with the restaurant and hotel, and how they have built and shaped what it is today.
With this book, Per Bengtsson and Monica Carlsson, founders of PM & Vänner, exhibits the best of Småland, which includes; its wood, its glass, its produce, and of course its people. Interesting to note that even the book’s paper is made in Småland!
The Swedish language version comes in black with black edges, the English version in white. Both cloth bound and printed by the leading art book printing house in Sweden. Made in Småland.
