The New Japan is a new magazine that highlights regional cultures throughout Japan.
The “NEW” in the title refers to “a new discovery for each reader.” Through this magazine, the editorial team hopes to inspire readers to visit the places featured in its pages.
The theme of the inaugural issue is the Yaeyama Islands, a chain that includes Ishigaki, Iriomote, and other islands. The issue offers a multifaceted look at the charms of Yaeyama—from its magnificent natural landscapes to its inherited crafts and beloved local foods.
