The New York Pizza Project is a project by five 30-year-old native New Yorkers. Documenting the heart and soul of New York City’s last authentic pizzerias through photography and interviews taken over the last five years.
It’s focused on the people, the places, and the city itself, to understand what makes pizza part of New York’s DNA. It highlights the stories behind the sliceーfamily-run businesses passed down through generations, small shops struggling against the forces of gentrification, parents and children sharing a slice on a weekend afternoon, and kids hanging out after school.
